Terms and Conditions

1. Booking

Confirmation:

Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received and the Consultation Form has been fully completed and submitted to the Trainer.

 

2. Services

Location:

Services will be performed either at the Client’s property or at a mutually agreed location at the time the booking is confirmed.

Right to Refuse:

The Trainer reserves the right not to provide services to any dog they consider dangerous or a danger to any person or other animal, at the Trainer’s sole discretion.

 

3. Trainer Responsibilities

Training Methods:

We use only force-free and humane training methods. Results require the Client’s commitment to work with their dog long-term.

No Guarantee:

We cannot guarantee the training will work due to individual differences in each dog’s background, behavior, and training issues, or if the Client does not follow the trainer’s instructions between sessions.

Tailored Training:

Training will be tailored for your dog based on information provided via the Consultation Form.

No Stooge Dog:

We are not responsible for providing a stooge dog if recommended for training or behavior therapy progress.

Session Adjustments:

Sessions may be cut short due to extreme weather conditions for the safety of all involved, at the Trainer’s discretion.

Pandemic Measures:

During a pandemic, we will adhere to safety measures advised by the UK governing body.

 

3. Trainer Responsibilities

Consultation Form:

Complete the Trainer’s Consultation Form honestly and submit it at least 72 hours before the Session. The Session will not proceed without the completed Form.

Information Updates:

Inform the Trainer of any updates to the information provided in the Consultation Form before any Training Session.

Legal Status:

Confirm that the dog is not subject to the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, a Court Order, and is lawfully in your care.

Health Requirements:

Ensure your dog is fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control regime, and provide proof upon request.

Vet Contact:

Consent to the Trainer contacting your vet for behavioral issues and obtain a Vet Check if recommended.

Specific Training:

Use training specific to the consulted dog and not for other dogs without prior consultation.

Safety:

Keep yourself, your family, visitors, and your dog safe. The dog must be on a lead during training unless agreed otherwise. You are responsible for all vet bills and for keeping your dog under control during Sessions.

Equipment:

Bring any recommended equipment to the Session.

Positive Reinforcement:

Use positive reinforcement methods. Sessions will be terminated without refund if forceful handling or punishment is used.

Identification:

Ensure your dog has a well-fitted and secure flat collar or harness with an ID tag.

Muzzling:

Use a well-fitting muzzle if your dog is known to bite or cause injury, and keep a safe distance from stooge dogs if used.

Social Media:

Allow the Trainer to share success stories, photos, and videos of your dog via social media.

 

5. Privacy

GDPR Compliance:

We respect your privacy in accordance with the GDPR. Do not share training and behavioral materials provided by us with others, apart from immediate family for sole use with the dog.

Information Sharing:

The Trainer collects and may disclose information as necessary for providing services, including to veterinarians. The Trainer accepts no liability for loss or inconvenience due to such disclosures.

 

6. Disclaimer

No Veterinary or Legal Advice:

The Trainer is not qualified to provide veterinary or legal advice.

Third-Party Advice:

Comments and advice from others within Facebook groups or on Instagram may not be endorsed by the Trainer.

 

7. Fees & Payment

Quoted Fees:

Our fees are as set out in our communication with you, quoted per dog and exclusive of out-of-pocket expenses, which will be agreed upon in advance.

Travel Fees:

A travel fee will be charged for locations over 5 miles from the Trainer’s home. This includes 45p per mile and £5 for each 15 minutes of travel time.

Payment Terms:

Payments must be made in full by electronic bank transfer at least 48 hours before services are performed. We reserve the right to cancel the Session if payment is not received in full.

Refund Policy:

No refunds for cancelled services or missed Sessions unless in exceptional circumstances, at the Trainer’s discretion. The Second Consultation Session must be taken within 4 weeks of the First Consultation or it will be forfeited. Refunds, if issued, will be made by bank transfer to the original payer.

 

8. Cancellations

Client-Initiated:

Provide at least 48 hours’ notice to rearrange a Session. Failure to do so may result in cancellation without refund.

Trainer-Initiated:

We reserve the right to cancel any Session if the dog does not respond well to the training plan and continuing would constitute a risk.

 

9. Complaints

Process:

Direct any complaints to the Trainer, who views them as opportunities for improvement.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Legal Framework:

These terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

Jurisdiction:

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes arising from these terms.
